Algeria 400/220KV Hassi Messaoud GIS Substation Project This project is a turnkey project for 400/220kV substation in Algeria for ost Blinde 400/220 Kv Of OULED EL ABTAL / Post Blinde 400/220 Kv Of HASSI R' MEL / Post Blinde 400/220 Kv Of HASSI MESSAOUD The project has significance in that Samsung C&T and Hyosung consortium was the first Korean entity receiving an order from Sonelgaz (Societe Nationale de l'Electricite et du Gaz, National Society for Electricity and Gas) of Algeria. By winning the project, the consortium proved to have competitive edge that enables them to stand shoulder to shoulder with its European and Japanese counterparts with track record in construction of 400kV high voltage substation. Samsung C&T and Hyosung have successfully executed the project, resulting in Sonelgaz to sign an extension project increasing the capacity of the original one. The extension project is for three 400 kV bays groups reached the original site to ensure the evacuation of power.

Bosnia & Herzegovina Hospitals Modernization Project This project is to successfully supply medical equipment such as MRIs, CTs and digital X-rays to 27 secondary and tertiary hospitals / Equipment handling education and training for hospital personnel and engineers Bosnia and Herzegovina had maintained an advanced healthcare system before it was seriously undermined by the ravages of civil war. As a result, access to priority healthcare at primary and secondary levels was reduced and living conditions had deteriorated. The project aimed to supply medical equipment to 27 hospitals (16 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 11 in the Republika Srpska) such as MRIs, CTs, digital X-rays and digital ultrasound imaging systems for secondary and tertiary healthcare facilities. Education for handling the equipment and hospital personnel and engineer training were also financed by the EDCF loan. We entered into procurement contract with the client, Ministry of Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in October 2009. The project was successfully completed in 2012. Our commitment towards quality and reliability led to the follow-up contract in December 2012 for phase 3 of the same project.

Gabon Government Administration Network Project This project is to allow the Gabon Government to have advanced governmental network infrastructure in Libreville including 110km of optic cable network among 129 offices. Via RAG project, Gabonese government was able to secure a national backbone network for the government administration in Libreville by a consortium of Samsung C&T and KT Networks. The project involved construction of National Data Center (NDC) with Network Operation Center (NOC), implementation of POPs (Point of Presence) and LAN networks at 129 offices in Libreville, as well as training. The project was successfully completed in June 2013, and additional contract for its expansion was signed in January 2013. With the second contract, the consortium will implement a broader government administration network not only in Libreville, but also in Lambarne. Through the implementation of government administration network, the government will experience an increase in efficiency and transparency in politic, administrative and economic spheres.

Nicaragua, Vocational Training Centers Project This project is to provide vocational training equipments for six different vocational training centers including overseas fellowship training, expert dispatch and textbook development. The project aims to contribute to economic development and industrial growth of Nicaragua by learning the Korean vocational training system that has been indispensible to the industrialization and economic development of Korea. The main objective is to supply vocational training equipment such as industrial welding machine, automobile mechanic machine, and hydraulic and pneumatic machine to six centers in four different cities in Nicaragua. In addition, overseas training for instructors and managers from each center and Korean expert dispatch to Nicaragua as well as curriculum development were financed by the EDCF loan. We entered into procurement contract with the client, the Institution of National Technology (INATEC) of the Republic of Nicaragua, in December 2009. The project was successfully completed in 2011. As a result of satisfactory project implementation, Nicaraguan government decided to proceed with phase 2 of the Vocational Training Center project with EDCF loan.

Sri Lanka Galle Potable Water Project This project is aimed at addressing water shortage in Greater Galle Area, Sri Lanka, contributing to local living condition improvement and industrial development by providing sufficient water supply for industrial use and drinking, and purifying water from the Gin River. The project was announced by the government of Sri Lanka to address water shortage in Greater Galle Area which is a metropolitan area on the southwestern tip of Sri Lanka, 116km from Colombo. Galle is the administrative capital of Southern Province and a seaside resort city with a seaport connecting Southeast Asia and the Middle East. The project aimed to contribute to local living condition improvement and industrial development by providing sufficient water supply for industrial use as well as for drinking and purifying water from the Gin River. The project was conducted in phases 1 and 2 separately. For Phase 1, loan request was made in 1999 and approved in 2000. We entered into EPC contract with the client in 2001 and began works in December 2001. The phase was completed in March 2005. For Phase 2, loan request was made in 2003 and approved in 2004. Completion of Phase 2 was in 2007. The Project was evaluated by the client as 'highly effective‘, an example of adopting optimized technology in Sri Lanka.
